La Liga Results 2016: Scores and Updated Table After Saturday's Week 6 Matches

Real Madrid now lead La Liga by just a point after being held to a draw for a second time in as many matches. A late Las Palmas equaliser denied Los Blancos all three points after a 2-2 draw in Gran Canaria on Saturday.

Real's misery was compounded by the knowledge second-placed Barcelona had closed the gap earlier in the day. Barca put five past Sporting Gijon even without injured attacking talisman Lionel Messi.

Elsewhere, Athletic Bilbao saw off Sevilla 3-1 at San Mames, after Eibar won a Basque derby against Real Sociedad.
