Cedric Bakambu netted a double on Sunday as Villarreal came back from 1-0 down to beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 at the Madrigal.
Imanol Agirretxe pulled off the same trick for Real Sociedad as they beat Eibar 2-1 after falling behind by a goal after just four minutes.
Meanwhile, Athletic Bilbao and Malaga played out a goalless draw,and Sporting Gijon beat struggling Las Palmas 3-1 thanks to an Antonio Sanabria hat-trick.
