Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was stopped by the police Thursday for speeding and driving without a license, per Cadena SER (via the Sun's Nick Rostron-Pike), and the infraction has reportedly complicated the 27-year-old's schedule as a pivotal showdown approaches.
According to Rostron-Pike, Benzema is slated to appear in court Nov. 21 to address the incident. Coincidentally, Los Blancos are slated to square off against Barcelona that day in the first El Clasico of the La Liga season.
Cadena SER (via Sport) reported Benzema "offered the police a piece of paper, which he claimed gave him permission to drive provisionally.
