Kamara reclaims Golden Boot lead as Crew storm back against Rapids

The Columbus striker scored a pair of goals to grab three points for the visitors.

Kei Kamara jumped back in front of the MLS Golden Boot standings Saturday night with a brace to give the Columbus Crew a 2-1 road victory over the Colorado Rapids.

Kamara notched his 16th and 17th goals to at first pull even and then ahead of Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco, who was kept off the scoresheet in his side’s 3-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City earlier in the day.

It was the Rapids who struck first in this one however, as Bobby Burling scored his first of the season off a free kick delivery from Vincente Sanchez, delivering a powerful header into the corner in 42nd minute.
