Juventus piled further woe on Roma with a 1-0 win in Turin that left the visitors languishing in ninth place in the Serie A table.
Juventus had a host of quality chances go begging before Mario Mandzukic rose over everyone to power home a header from a Mattia De Sciglio cross to give his team a 1-0 lead at half-time.
The hosts continued to dominate proceedings without adding to their lead as Cristiano Ronaldo missed two headed chances -- one sailing over the crossbar and the other saved by Roma keeper Robin Olsen.
Wojciech Szczesny did well to keep out a Bryan Cristante header right before stoppage time and then Ronaldo setup Douglas Costa for a tap in at the other end, but the goal was waved off for a foul by Juventus in the buildup.
