Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio has unveiled his 24-man squad for El Tri’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against El Salvador and Honduras.
Guillermo Ochoa, Rafael Marquez, Andres Guardado, Hector Moreno, and Jesus “Tecatito” Corona were included, all of whom were also named in last June’s Copa America Centenario squad.
Coach Osorio, however, left out Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Oribe Peralta through injury.
The surprises come in the form of the forwards, with Angel Zaldivar, Martin Barragan, and Angel Sepulveda all getting their first senior national team call-up.
Mexico travel to San Salvador to take on El Salvador on Friday September 2 and then host Honduras four days later at the Estadio Azteca.
