The veteran midfielder wasn't in coach Jurgen Klinsmann's squad for the upcoming friendlies against the Netherlands and Germany, and Klinsmann told reporters it's unclear at this point whether the star midfielder will recover in time for the Gold Cup, per Fox Soccer's Kyle McCarthy:
