James Rodriguez Sent Death Threat on Twitter

James Rodriguez's decision to leave the Colombian national team during the international break has caused a lot of backlash on social media, with one fan going so far as to send a death threat to the Real Madrid star.

According to Goal, Rodriguez's mother has officially made a complaint with the police following a threat on Twitter that was accompanied by photos of a gun and bullets. The message read: "I am travelling to your home, I am armed, say goodbye to everything you love."

Per the report, the hashtag "#JamesVerguenzaNacional (James a national embarrassment)" started trending after news broke the midfielder would leave the Colombian national team and return to Madrid.
