Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted a charge of misconduct and was subsequently fined £40,000 by the Football Association on Wednesday.
A piece on the FA’s official website outlines the reasoning behind the sanction: “Wilshere was found guilty of making and/or inciting certain comments during the club’s open bus trophy tour after their FA Cup final victory, with his conduct deemed to be improper and bringing the game into disrepute.”
The player sang songs about the Gunners’ local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, which contained profanity, during Arsenal's celebrations after winning the FA Cup.
