Manchester United have made an approach for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to add some creative spark in the middle of the park.
The Croatian has long been on the Red Devils' target list, and with the imminent arrival of Ajax superstar Frankie de Jong at the Camp Nou this summer, the 31-year-old’s position could be in jeopardy.
Rakitic joined the Catalan club from Sevilla in 2014. Since his arrival Rakitic has made 169 appearances, scoring 24 goals and helping his side win four La Liga titles.
He also helped the Blaugrana to a Champions League triumph in 2015 by scoring the opening goal in their 3-1 win against Italian champions Juventus.
