LILLE, France -- Three quick thoughts from Ireland's 1-0 triumph over Italy.
1. Irish euphoria in dramatic late win
Ireland kept up Euro 2016's underdog trend and will live to play another day in the European Championship. Robbie Brady scored an excellent 85th-minute header to beat Italy 1-0 and send Ireland into a last 16 meeting with France in Lyon on Sunday.
It was no more than the Irish deserved against a second-string Italy playing several levels below than their normal standard. Brady's goal also reflected the spirit in which late goals are renowned for -- a moment of euphoria when all appears lost.
