Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has been sidelined for the rest of the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
The Netherlands No.1 was withdrawn from action with nine minutes to play in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan on Saturday and scans have since revealed the severity of the injury to his right knee.
Newcastle will be forced to turn to third-choice Rob Elliot for its upcoming clash with Norwich, with backup keeper Karl Darlow already sidelined wih an ankle injury.
