Indian Premier Futsal League 2016 Final: Mumbai vs. Kochi Score, Reaction

Mumbai were crowned the inaugural Premier Futsal League champions on Sunday, defeating Kochi 3-2 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in normal time at Goa's Peddem Sports Complex.

Kochi looked likely to take the top prize themselves after a first-quarter opener from Deives Moraes separated the two teams until the late stages of the final.

Kochi went ahead early in Sunday's final.

However, Angellot rose as the last-gasp hero for Mumbai and diverted home a dramatic equaliser in the final moments of the fourth quarter to force a penalty shootout.

Marquee players Ryan Giggs (Mumbai) and Michel Salgado (Kochi) each saw their spot kicks saved during the showdown, but Mumbai goalkeeper Luis Amado and Jo Paul Bence both netted to salvage the win, per Premier Futsal:

Congratulations to Mumbai 5 and Ryan Giggs for winning the first edition of #PremierFutsal!
