After a long drought dating back to the 2013 season, the Impact are starting to find the back of the net from dead-ball situations.
MONTREAL — In the Montreal Impact’s comprehensive 4-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday at Stade Saputo, the club's first win of the season, the Impact managed to score its first goal on a set piece in MLS for more than a year.
The goal came off a corner kick in the 18th minute, as defender Laurent Ciman knocked in Marco Donadel’s delivery from close range to open the Impact’s account on the afternoon.
