‘I wouldn’t be surprised’ - Marc-Andre ter Stegen tips team-mate to take over as Barcelona captain

Marc Andre-ter Stegen has tipped team-mate Pedri to take over the captain’s armband at Barcelona in the future.

The German goalkeeper is currently the first-team captain, although he’s missed most of the season through injury.

Ter Stegen is closing in on a comeback from his knee injury but says he expects to see Pedri leading the team in the future.

“For me, he [Pedri] is already a phenomenon, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he took over as captain. He’ll leave his mark on this club for a long time,” he told Bild’s podcast.
