Melbourne Victory marquee Keisuke Honda should have been shown a second yellow card against Adelaide United on Friday night, according to the FFA's director of referees Ben Wilson.
The Japanese midfielder was guilty of a poor challenge on Ryan Kitto in the second half having already been booked but the referee decided against giving Honda his marching orders.
Wilson admitting the challenge was worthy of a second yellow in his opinion but VAR didn't have the power to intervene.
I also think that Keisuke Honda should have received a second yellow card for his challenge on Ryan Kitto but it is not within the protocol for this to be reviewed by the VAR.
