The Serie A champion had shown an interest in signing the World Cup winner and looked close to completing a deal, only to see an offer rejected by the Bundesliga side.
Draxler ended up signing for Wolfsburg at the end of the window, but Heldt says he had his sights set on a move to Italy until the end.
