When Xavi Hernández first announced his decision to leave Barcelona at the end of January, one name gained a lot of strength as a potential replacement: Hansi Flick. And now that Xavi’s job appears to be jeopardy again, Flick’s name is once again back on the radar in a big way.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who report the former Bayern Munich and Germany head coach has already said no to an approach from Chelsea, who are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Mauricio Pochettino earlier this week.
And the reason for Flick’s rejection of Chelsea, the report says, is that the German is very interested in the Barça job and is ready to take over if Xavi Hernández is indeed sacked at the end of the season.
