Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is reportedly considering calling up 18-year-old starlet Jofre Torrents to first-team training after losing Alejandro Balde to injury.
Balde is expected to be replaced in the starting XI by Gerard Martin in the coming weeks as the left-back recovers from a hamstring injury.
Yet Balde’s absence could also offer Torrents the chance to stake a claim, according to ESPN’s Moises Llorens.
Flick is thinking about calling Torrents up to first-team training and is also planning on using the youngster in pre-season ahead of the start of the new campaign.
The German coach has taken a check on several young La Masia talents this season, and Torrents will be hoping he can impress the boss if he does get the call.
