FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is said to be such a fan of Frenkie de Jong that he told the sporting director not to sell the midfielder, as per a new report.
Supposedly, Flick is so impressed by De Jong that he told the club’s executives not only not to sell De Jong, but to not worry about signing Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad. He wound up going to Arsenal FC instead.
Flick is said to want to put De Jong in the double pivot, the position he originally played when he first gained fame with Ajax AFC.
