Hamsik relishing new role at Napoli

The captain believes that playing further away from goal will bring out of the best of him, after a couple of erratic seasons under Rafael Benitez

Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik is relishing the opportunity to play in a deeper midfield role under new coach Maurizio Sarri.

The Partenopei captain had struggled as an attacking midfielder in ex-boss Rafael Benitez's favored 4-2-3-1 formation, and made no secret of his delight at the Spaniard's departure for Real Madrid at the end of last season.

However, former Empoli trainer Sarri has given the 28-year-old a more withdrawn role in preseason and the Slovakia international now believes that he is set for a successful 2015-16 campaign.
