Guatemala bunker shows Mexico's vulnerability

The Central Americans executed their game plan to outmuscle Mexico, which could cause El Tri more problems in the Gold Cup, writes Jon Arnold.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — It started against Honduras and continued against Guatemala. Miguel Herrera has a problem on his hands, even if he doesn't think his team does.

After the match, the Mexican manager said he was calm because his team had several attempts and simply lacked the finishing touch.

"They gave us 20,000 kicks," Herrera joked when asked what Guatemala did to give his side trouble. "The truth is, the team stayed well back.
