Govea Officialy Makes Loan Move to Antwerp

Mexican international Omar Govea will not be leaving the country of Belgium anytime soon. The 22-year-old was presented Thursday with his new club, Royal Antwerp, who currently sit fourth overall in the Jupiler Pro League standings.

This new journey for Govea serves beneficiary as Royal Antwerp will be fighting for a spot in European competitions next season, whereas his last club in the league, Royal Excel Mouscron, battled relegation all last year.

Previously, it was rumored that FC Porto, the owner of the Govea’s card, would renew his loan with Mouscron. Nevertheless, Antwerp swooped in and secured the San Luis Potosí-native’s rights on a one-year loan deal.
