Three quick thoughts from Germany's 3-1 win over Poland in European Championship qualifying from Frankfurt on Friday night.
1. Germany reach the top of Group D
A 2-0 defeat in Warsaw in the reverse fixture last September and a 1-1 draw with Ireland left Germany chasing Poland for nearly a year. The 2014 World Cup winners were out of form, injured and looking for motivation. Still, they went on to win the remaining games, and went into the tie with 13 points and in good shape after a long preseason.
