Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia have started the Cecafa Kagame Cup on a high after edging AS Maniema Union of Democratic Republic of Congo 2-1 in Rwanda.
Head coach Hassan Oktay handed Tobias Otieno, Dennis Oalo and winger Dickson Ambundo their debuts.
Otieno started the match but Oalo and Ambundo had to wait until the second-half to make an appearance, replacing Samuel Onyango and Boniface Omondi, respectively.
Jacques Tuyisenge, who is set to join Angola's side Petro Atletico, was also in the stands to cheer his former side.
Defender Wellington Ochieng scored Gor Mahia's opening goal in the 22nd minute, after his low drive beat AS Maniema custodian Jean Mac Bukasa.
