Golden Shoe 2016-17: Top Goalscorers in Europe, Updated Rankings on September 26

Barcelona’s Luis Suarez, the holder of the European Golden Shoe, continued his fine start to the La Liga season with another strike in his team’s 5-0 win over Sporting Gijon on Saturday.

That made it five for the season for the Uruguay international, a mark that’s also been reached by Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, who bagged a brace for his side. However, the top marksman in Europe’s top five leagues at the moment remains Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi on six.

With the elite leagues still in the early stages, there aren’t any big names in the top five of the current standings; Rosenborg's Christian Gytkjaer, Kairat's Gerard Gohou, Evgeni Kabaev of Sillamae Kalev and Paide's Vjatseslav Zahovaiko are locked in a four-way tie for the lead.
