Global Soccer: Pep Guardiola Juggles His Current Job With His Next

LONDON — Shortly after Pep Guardiola confirmed that he would leave Bayern Munich to join Manchester City after the season, the coach was asked how he would manage the remainder of his term in Bavaria.

“People can trust me,” he quipped. “I am like a woman. I can multitask, control both situations.”

So far, so good. Bayern has barely missed a beat since the announcement earlier this month. His team, by far the best in Germany, is comfortably on course for its fourth straight Bundesliga title. His key defenders are injured, but his top two strikers — Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller — just passed the 43-year-old record of Gerd Müller and Uli Hoeness for the most goals after 21 games.
