Gerard Piqué has been chatting about his former club once again and the transfer of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain back in 2017.
The Ligue 1 club famously activated the Brazilian’s 222 million euro buyout clause to bring the forward to Parc des Princes in a transfer that sent shockwaves across Europe.
Barcelona went on to reinvest in the squad by bringing in players including Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, but Pique says he would have used it differently.
“We received 222 million euros for Neymar and spent 400 million on three players. It’s the same thing that happened with Figo 15 years ago,” he said on a live stream with Ibai Llanos.
