Gerard Pique has been speaking about the future of football and fears that top Spanish teams such as Barcelona and Real Madrid soon won’t be able to compete with Europe’s elite.
The former Barcelona defender feels the different rules, particularly regarding finances, in different leagues makes for an uneven playing field.

“Barça and Madrid are not going to be able to compete in the long run, this is obvious,” he said.
“In the United States the money is distributed equally in the 30 franchises, they will structure it in a way that the franchises are very protected.
