Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué will not be subject to sanctions by the Spanish Federation after the Competition Committee decided to close their investigation into the player’s comments in regards to Spanish referees and their support of Real Madrid, according to Cadena SER.
Piqué made the comments in a YouTube interview that was published last February in which he cited a comment from a former referee that 85% of Spanish officials were Real Madrid fans, and Piqué argued that could have been the reason why so many controversial decisions were given in Real’s favor when they won La Liga last season.
