The Galaxy continued its off-season rebuilding Wednesday, signing free-agent midfielder Jeff Larentowicz while closing in on another deal to return midfielder Mike Magee to the StubHub Center.
Both players were declared free agents last month after their former club, the Chicago Fire, chose not to resign them.
Larentowicz, 32, is an 11-year Major League Soccer veteran who can also play on the back line. He has made more than 300 MLS regular-season appearances with the New England Revolution, Colorado Rapids and Fire, leading Chicago in minutes played last season.
