Frenkie de Jong admits that Sunday’s 4-2 loss to Girona is a difficult result to take after seeing Barcelona slip seven points behind the league leaders.
Xavi’s side came into the match after wins over Porto and Atletico but were second best to Girona who fully deserved the three points.
De Jong admitted his team weren’t good enough and says they must improve quickly.
“It’s a difficult defeat to take. we weren’t at our best. Girona played really well but it was our fault we lost the game tonight,” he told Viaplay.
“We weren’t good enough with the ball, especially in the first half, and that made the game very difficult for us.
