Frenkie de Jong, who has officially signed for FC Barcelona, is set to play Real Madrid tomorrow as Ajax start their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.
His current manager, Erik ten Hag, has confirmed the young Dutchman has an extra motivation as he plays his future club’s arch-rivals. De Jong had been carrying an injury lately, but Ten Hag declared him fit to play.
“He is excited to play tomorrow,” the manager said, “just like the rest of us. He will have an extra motivation for it being Real Madrid, just like all of us.
