Francisco Trincao confirms he’s had to pull out of Portugal Under-21 squad for Euros

Barcelona winger Francisco Trincao has confirmed he will have to miss the Under-21 Euros this summer because he is having to quarantine after having been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

The 21-year-old was named in the original Portugal squad for the tournament but will now have to watch his team from the sidelines.

Here’s what he’s had to say:

“Although I tested negative for Covid-19, but because I was in contact with a colleague who tested positive, I find myself obliged, according to the instructions of the health authorities, to comply with a quarantine period and therefore unfortunately I will not be able to represent my country in the U21 European Championship, but my colleagues’ confidence in the work is limitless!
