Former Tottenham and England forward Darren Anderton has said that Harry Kane can lead England from the front as captain similar to how Alan Shearer did.
Since Wayne Rooney's international retirement, Kane has worn the captain's armband four times but England manager Gareth Southgate is yet to name a new permanent captain, having passed the armband round since Rooney quit England.
Anderton played over 300 times for Spurs, but only had 30 caps for the national side, scoring seven times. Kane already has an impressive 12 goals in 23 caps for England, and Anderton sees the same leadership qualities in 24-year-old Kane that ex-skipper Alan Shearer had.
