Former Manchester United chief executive David Gill has warned the Red Devils they need to respond to their neighbour Manchester City’s emergence in recent years.
Gill stepped down from his post at Old Trafford in 2013, along with Sir Alex Ferguson, who also decided to end his managerial career in May 2013. City were taken over Sheikh Mansour in 2008.
Since then, the two-time Premier League champions have emerged as one of the top clubs in the Premier League. Gill hailed the development done by the Etihad outfit and has backed them to be one of the top clubs in the future.
