Former Barcelona B boss Garcia Pimienta takes over at Sevilla

Former Barcelona B boss Francisco Garcia Pimienta has been confirmed as the new manager of La Liga side Sevilla.

Garcia Pimienta replaces Quique Sanchez Flores at the helm and moves after a stint in charge of Las Palmas.

Sevilla confirmed the move on Sunday.

“We have reached an agreement with Francisco José García Pimienta to become our first team head coach for the next season. Originally from Barcelona, it was there he first started out both his playing and coaching career,” read a statement.

Garcia Pimienta becomes the latest coach to be appointed after Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso were sacked and Sanchez Flores left at the end of the season.
