Former FIFA executive Chuck Blazer said he agreed to accept bribes for the selection of South Africa to host the 2010 World Cup, according to a transcript of his plea deal with federal authorities in November 2013.
Blazer also admitted that he helped to "facilitate the acceptance of a bribe" for the selection of France to host the 1998 World Cup. In addition, Blazer said he agreed to accept bribes and kickbacks surrounding rights to five CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments.
Blazer is the former general secretary of CONCACAF, the FIFA federation that oversees soccer in North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
