It’s seemed clear for weeks that Ferran Torres was Robert Lewandowski’s backup, not only for this season, but for the next campaign as well.
He did just score a critical opening goal against Celta Vigo on the weekend, although in that game he started on the wing, alongside the Polish international.
Against Mallorca, however, a prodigious attacking game in which Barcelona produced 40 shots while Lewandowski was sidelined, Ferran was the most quiet attacking player of all while playing as the center forward.

Most likely, this isn’t really a decision for Hansi Flick at all.
