With a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday at Toyota Stadium, Dallas (16-10-6) moved into a tie with the New York Red Bulls for the best record in MLS with two weeks remaining.
Dallas began the night three points back of New York, and defender Zach Loyd acknowledged that the club had been monitoring the Red Bulls' 2-1 loss to Toronto FC earlier in the evening.
