FC Dallas has added the Argentine center back, sending targeted allocation money to Portland as a part of the deal.
FC Dallas announced the signing of former Portland Timbers center back Norberto Paparatto on Tuesday, strengthening the club's defensive depth ahead of a busy home stretch.
Dallas sent target allocation money to the Timbers in exchange for the right of first refusal on Paparatto, who has made five appearances for top-flight Argentine side Atletico Rafaela since leaving MLS this past offseason.
The 32-year-old made 19 regular season appearances over two years with the Timbers and also played in three playoff matches as Portland won the MLS Cup last fall.
