The goalkeeper situation at Barcelona has certainly become very interesting since the beginning of the new year, as Wojciech Szczesny has started the last three games and conceded just one goal in place of Iñaki Peña.
Szczesny had to wait a long time for his chance since coming out of retirement to join the club in September, but the Pole has certainly showed he has what it takes to be the club’s starting shot-stopper for the rest of the season.
Peña will return to the lineup on Wednesday’s Copa del Rey Round of 16 clash against Real Betis due to Szczesny’s suspension for his red card against Real Madrid, and Hansi Flick was asked in a press conference on Tuesday if Peña will remain the keeper once Szczesny is available once again.
