Even Mateu Lahoz says Barcelona denied ‘clear penalty’ against Getafe for foul on Jules Kounde

Barcelona’s clash with Getafe at the weekend has seen plenty of fallout after the Catalans were denied a penalty for a foul on Jules Kounde.

Club president Joan Laporta has called it a “scandal,” while manager Hansi Flick said VAR was not needed for the decision as it was so obvious.

Now former referee Mateu Lahoz has entered the debate and even he thinks it was a “clear penalty” for Barcelona.

“I don’t think it’s a controversial matter,” he said on Movistar.

“It’s a clear penalty The refereeing committee itself said before the start of the season that a penalty would be awarded for holding inside the penalty area, but now they are not keeping their word.
