Defending champions Spain were dumped out of UEFA Euro 2016, as they lost 2-0 to a brilliant Italy side at the Stade de France in Paris on Monday.
Giorgio Chiellini netted in the first half, following up to turn home Eder's excellent free-kick after David De Gea could only push it away. Graziano Pelle sealed the match—and Italy's quarter-final spot against Germany—with a stoppage-time volley.
England will look to join the other quarter-finalists when they face Iceland in the final last-16 match later on Monday.
