Slovakia reignited their UEFA Euro 2016 campaign on Wednesday after dismantling Russia with a 2-1 win, as goals from Vladimir Weiss and Marek Hamsik saw them clinch their first points of the tournament despite Denis Glushakov's consolatory header.
Russia were lacking in creativity and left their revival too late to redeem themselves after a 1-1 draw against England last Saturday, while the Slovaks were in fierce form following their opening defeat to Wales.
Slovakia's victory means they go level on points with Group B leaders Wales for the time being, and Russia now need to defeat the Welsh in their final fixture to have any chance of progressing.
