Espindola stars as D.C. United continues best start in club history

The striker notched a goal and an assist in his second game back from suspension as D.C. United defeated the Columbus Crew 2-0.

WASHINGTON — Fabian Espindola doesn't mince words when describing his six-game suspension to kick off the 2015 MLS season. No player wants to watch from the sidelines while his teammates battle without him.

"It was horrible," he said.

But the striker has started making up for lost time. Sidelined for nearly two months after shoving an assistant referee at the end of D.C. United's playoff run last November, Espindola returned to action for a 2-1 win at the Vancouver Whitecaps last weekend.
