Ernesto Valverde says Barcelona ‘weren’t good’ against Real Valladolid

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde admitted his team “weren’t good” during Saturday’s win over Real Valladolid.

The hosts won the game 1-0 thanks to a Lionel Mesi penalty but wasted several other good chances to score, including a second spot-kick that Jordi Masip saved.

Valverde talked about his side’s performance after the match but seemed confident they would be far better next time out against Lyon in the Champions League.

“The opposition also play but we weren’t good. It’s difficult to always shine and to create seven clear chances to win,” he said.
