Ernesto Valverde said Barcelona must learn to manage games better after struggling to a 2-1 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Barcelona looked set for a comfortable night after scoring early through Lionel Messi but actually found it really tough going against the Czech champions.
Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen had a busy evening in the visitors’ goal, and Valverde said after the match he was not surprised by the hosts’ performance.
“That was exactly the Slavia performance we expected. When we lost the ball they threw people forward and by the end they took so many risks it was like defending against an avalanche of attacks.
