Thiago Alcántara could be heading back to FC Barcelona, and it may be all thanks to a former teammate of his. Éric Abidal, who played alongside Thiago and is now Barça’s director of football, thinks the Bayern Munich midfielder is just what is needed, according to a report in Diario SPORT.
Thiago has been rumored to be on the shortlist for a while, but things cooled off as Barcelona concentrated on signing Brazilian midfielder Arthur. However, it could be back on now that that signing has been completed.
The report also says that contact with Adrien Rabiot of Paris Saint-Germain will not “interfere” in a possible deal for Thiago.
