Eldense coach Filippo Vito di Pierro has been arrested as part of an investigation into match-fixing involving the Segunda B club. Investigations have been ongoing since Eldense lost 12-0 Saturday to Barcelona B, according to Goal's Dom Farrell.
Not only has the manager been detained, with his arrest coming one day after La Liga president Javier Tebas announced an investigation would be launched, but Farrell's report also indicated one more person connected to the club has been taken into custody: "Spanish news agency EFE reported Italian investor Nobile Capuani had also been arrested.
